Default Wolves midfielder: My mate Hart was always going to be England No.1

Wolves' David Edwards wants to score past Joe Hart to make him pay for months of clearing up after him.

Wanderers' Welsh international midfielder Edwards, 24, and Man City keeper Hart, 23, grew up together in Shrewsbury.

They even shared a house together when youngsters at the Gay Meadow club before Hart's meteoric rise to England No.1.

And today's clash between Wolves and City at Molineux will bring back memories for the pair.

Edwards said: "We did our YTS together and when I bought my first little two-bedroomed house in Shrewsbury, Joe rented one of the rooms off me.

"We've been friends ever since.

"But when he was young he was so much better than anything else around - shot-stopping, kicking, everything.

"You knew immediately he was different, a cut above.

"I remember him saving one of my efforts during a game and thinking he was pretty special.

"All he needed was maturity and experience and that has come in the last couple of years.

"Now he's one of the best goalkeepers in the world."
