Freddie Sears has joined Championship side Scunthorpe United on a one-month loan deal from West Ham United.

Scunthorpe have been lacking in the forward department due to the loss of both Gary Hooper and Paul Hayes over the summer to Celtic and Preston North End respectively.

The loan deal gives an ideal opportunity for the club to increase their fire power and for Sears to get some more first team opportunities at the age of 20.

Scunthorpe boss Ian Baraclough has declared himself very pleased with the deal.
He told the club's official website: "He's a lad who first came to our attention a few years ago when he burst on to the scene with West Ham.

"We were presented with the chance to bring him in and we're delighted to have him on board. He's come through the ranks and scored a goal on his debut for West Ham."
