McCoist accepts Boyd interest
Rangers assistant manager Ally McCoist has confessed that he is not surprised Birmingham City manager Alex McLeish is still being linked with a move for Kris Boyd.
Birmingham had a bid accepted for Boyd in January 2009, but the player wanted to stay with Rangers. Boyd is now nearing the end of his contract and can leave for free in the summer. Alex McLeish is still keen to land the man he signed for Rangers from Kilmarnock in January 2006.
Commenting on the Birmingham interest, Rangers assistant manager Ally McCoist said: 'It's a catch 22. If nobody was interested in him, he wouldn't be doing well. It's not disappointing, it's just part of the game and probably to be expected.'
Boyd has been on fine goal scoring form again this season and has hit 24 goals. The striker has admitted that he would fancy a crack at the Premiership. It is becoming more and more likely that this will happen unless Rangers' takeover happens and he gets offered a new contract.
