Default Stars want Mancini axed

Manchester City players want Roberto Mancini booted out... NOW.

Many of City's multi-millionaire under- achievers believe they will never challenge for the Premier League title with the Italian in charge.

And SunSport has been told some are guessing among themselves when Mancini - whose side are fourth in the Premier League, eight points adrift of leaders Chelsea - could be sacked.

City suffered a shock 2-1 defeat at Wolves on Saturday during which Emmanuel Adebayor had an on-pitch row with Vincent Kompany.

A City source said: "There is hardly a player in the dressing room who has any time for Mancini. The place is a complete mess.

"There are times when he tries to be a hard man but no one takes any notice.

"Team spirit is falling apart because there is no respect for the manager and some players are even guessing when he could go.

"They don't know who they want in, they just want Mancini out."

Another source confirmed: "The players don't like his confrontational style.

"They're also baffled by him tactically - for example, they couldn't understand why he brought on defender Pablo Zabaletta for Emmanuel Adebayor instead of striker Jo at Wolves on Saturday."

Yaya Toure and James Milner had a bust-up in the tunnel during last Sunday's 3-0 defeat by Arsenal.

Toure's agent Dimitri Seluk says his client is angry at what he believes is a lack of winning mentality at City.

Seluk said: "Yaya thinks there are some players, perhaps mostly those who have been there for a long time, who think that fourth place is already a big position that it is good enough to 'not lose' rather than to always win."

I'm sure Mancini is under a LOT if pressure from the owners. In the EPL managers are already under a lot of scrutiny and pressure, but with the current situation in Man city, it has got to be worse. I feel for Mancini, he is a good manager, but who else right now would be better for the job? The only other person I think that could handle that job would be Sir Alex, but we all know he will never leave Man U. I'm not sure what the owners are going to do. I say stick it out with Mancini.

EDIT: I forgot to say,
If the players don't like him and aren't responding, which this post does state, then I can understand firing him, but again who would they hire?

Looking at yesterdays UK paper news, current Real Madrid and former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is top of their list.

Wow ok. You know what, I think I do recall hearing that now. He would be quite the acquisition.

There was something signed into his contract that he could only leave to manage Man Utd, without United paying any compensation (probably around £3M).

For him to leave Real Madrid and join City I think would be a good move money wise for him but not success.

I think Roberto Mancini deserves to be sacked. I thought this at the end of last season. He is a good coach but he's not capable of handling a squad with so many superstars. The way he plays is way too cautious for a team with such offensive firepower. He's a defensive-minded coach, which is not what the fans want to see from the richest club in the world. You rarely see them attack a team when they play on the road. I think this was especially apparent in last year's game against Tottenham (and for anyone who watched that game, you know what im talking about.) I think Jose Mourinho would be an excellent coach for Man City and would be able to talk this team to the next level.
