Default Manchester City Striker Roque Santa Cruz Admits Desire To Play In Spain

Manchester City striker Roque Santa Cruz has declared his intention to leave the Premier League club in January.

The Paraguay international forward has struggled to get much playing time this season and was reportedly close to a move out of Eastlands in the summer.

The 29-year-old has now made it clear that he does not want to warm the City bench any longer and that he is looking at greener pastures.

"Competition for places is great and I'm working every day to try and convince the manager, but I'm still not getting picked," he told Spanish radio station Cadena Ser.

"I'm not getting the playing time to convince anybody and my priority is to leave in the January transfer market.

"I'm 29 and still hope to fulfil my dream of playing in Spain. It is the dream of most South American players, and hopefully it will happen."

This should have happened before he moved to City. Don't even know why they bothered signing him.
