Voting scandal forces official to miss Wales event
Fifa have confirmed that the current World Cup 2018 corruption crisis has forced general secretary Jerome Valcke to miss the upcoming goal line technology meeting.
The official was due to attend the International FA board business event in Wales but will now send other officials to attend in his place. The meeting on Wednesday will see the chief executive of the four British associations discuss the application of video technology and are expected to appoint an independent body to research different systems.
A spokesman for the governing body has revealed Valcke would be unable to attend the IFAB meeting "due to other commitments".
These 'commitments' are in Zurich, where Fifa's ethic committee are to investigate weekend revelations about votes to host the 2018 tournament being sold to the highest bidder.
