New Brazil coach Mano Menezes has named his 24-man squad for next month's friendly international against the USA.
A number of World Cup stars, including Maicon, Lucio and Luis Fabiano have not been called up to allow them a rest, although Manchester United youngster Rafael da Silva is in line to win his first cap, while Liverpool's Lucas Leiva and Santos starlet, and Chelsea target, Neymar are also in.
Milan striker Alexandre Pato has also been called up to the squad that will travel stateside for the friendly although Ronaldinho has again been ignored.
"I know that from this moment I occupy one of the most important positions in this country," Menezes said. "We hope to build a Selecao capable of representing on the pitch all our ambitions and dreams.
"The task is difficult but we have to make sure that we will have a lot of drive to do it. Thank you for the confidence".
CBF president Ricardo Teixeira was also present at the press conference and he wished Menezes good luck.
"It's not necessary to present Mano," he said. "Everyone knows his work and the reason why we have chosen him to be our new coach. He agrees with the project of renovation of the Selecao to 2014.
"I wish him good luck and grant him the support of the board of directors from CBF in good and bad moments."
