Fulham are chasing FC Groningen centre-half Andreas Granqvist but face competition from Steve McClaren's Wolfsburg.

The 6ft 3ins defender, 25, had an ill-fated spell at Wigan in 2007 but has resurrected his career in Holland. He said: 'I know that other clubs are interested in me. I would like to move to a higher level.'
