Default Moyes still hoping for Europe

David Moyes insists the fight for Europa League football next season is still on, despite the frustrating 2-2 draw at Aston Villa Park that leaves the Blues still four points behind Villa, who occupy seventh place but have a game in hand.

“We will keep going. We will keep trying," Moyes told Evertontv. "Europe is important and we will keep fighting to try and get in there.

“When you consider where we were in October, the players have done a great job and we have lost only two of 20 matches.

“It is a bit galling that the last three matches have been draws and we could have done with an extra point or two," the manager continued.

“I thought we were going to get over the line against Villa but we didn’t quite manage it.

“At 2-1 up, we had a couple of great chances to seal the game and didn’t take them.

“I thought it was hard on our keeper because he made a couple of great first-half saves.

"He is disappointed he didn’t keep out the second goal but his overall performance was magnificent.”

I hope they do get into the Europa League as they deserve it. They've proved that they can handle the pressure of taking on the top 4, I can only wish that they can take lower league teams as much.
