Default Marseille and France striker Loic Remy still dreaming of a move to the Premier League

Loic Remy's agent has told Goal.com UK the Marseille star is eyeing a "dream" move to the Premier League – just months after he turned down a host of English clubs.

The France international striker was at the centre of one of the transfer sagas of the summer as Tottenham, Liverpool, West Ham United and Stoke City all showed an interest in signing him from Nice.

Despite declaring his desire to move to England, the 23-year-old eventually stayed in France by completing a €15 million (£13.1m) switch to Marseille.

It is believed that only Stoke and West Ham made offers deemed acceptable by Nice but the player was not interested in a move to either club.

Remy would have joined Tottenham but they could not agree a fee with the French club and were hesitant because they already had four strikers and were finding it hard to offload Republic of Ireland captain Robbie Keane.

The Lyon youth product scored his first goal for France earlier this month in their Euro 2012 qualifier against Romania and his agent, Frederic Guerra, is certain that his client will one day complete a move to the Premier League.

Guerra said: “Remy still has a dream to play in England and I am certain he will be a very good player in English football.

“He had many options in England in the summer – there were four or five clubs who wanted him – but he was happy to sign for Marseille.

“I think he had to make a decision for his whole career and that means staying in France for another year or two years.

“Every time I watch him he reminds me of Thierry Henry, he has excellent characteristics. He is quick, skilful and he can score many goals. He can be a huge success in the Premier League.

“When he next has a transfer I think he will go to a top club on a high level – that it was we hope for.”
