Burnley stopper Graham Alexander has confirmed that the club are confident regarding their ability to maintain their Premier League status.

The Clarets are currently in 18th place in the division, three points adrift of safety, and, with seven matches left to save their season, Alexander claims now is the time for Burnley to "pull out the results".

"We are not putting our heads in the sand," he explained to the official website of the Premier League. "We know we have got to pull out results and wins to achieve what we want to do.

"But talking to the lads and listening to the lads we are confident we can do it. We are banging on the door at the moment but we've got to kick it through. We can't keep saying it's bad luck, or whatever.

"The games are there for us to win," he stressed. "Through whatever scenario, we are not doing that at the moment, but the belief is still there and the will is definitely still there.

"We all want to stay in this division and be successful in doing that and the lads are confident we can do it."
