Default Coyle wants Wilshere on-loan again next season

Bolton manager Owen Coyle has admitted that he is hoping to bring back Jack Wilshere to the Reebok Stadium next season, but first needs to persuade Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger.

Wilshere joined Bolton on a short-term loan in January, and was an instant hit, convincing Coyle that he would need the 17-year-old in his squad for next season.

The exposure to first team football has also done Wilshere good, the young Englishman benefiting from experience not necessarily gained from playing in the reserves.

But with heavy speculation over the future of Cesc Fabregas, it's perhaps too early for Wenger to decide if Wilshere can be let go next season.

Coyle said: "I called Arsène Wenger to thank him for letting us have Jack last season. I think it was a fantastic experience for him and a very worthwhile one for us too.

"I honestly think he improved as a player, so we have asked the question. If he feels that Jack is not quite ready for first-team football [at Arsenal] next season, then we would love the opportunity to bring him back.

"The fans can see what a great young English talent he is, and I believe that with another full season under his belt, that he can really push on.

"That is how we left it - so we'll both go away and take a break, and then see what happens."

But Coyle stopped short of saying that a swap deal could be struck for defender Gary Cahill, be it to Arsenal or any other club. The Bolton manager insists that Cahill will be very much a part of the Lancashire club next season.

Coyle said: "There has been no dialogue about Gary Cahill whatsoever, with Arsenal or anyone else for that matter.

"I have got no desire to lose Gary - he's a big, big part of what I am trying to do here."
