Knight wants to keep Bolton up for good pal Davis
Zat Knight is determined to keep Bolton Wanderers in the Premiership for good mate Sean Davis.
Wanderers defender Knight, 29, and midfielder Davis, 30, were reunited at The Reebok last July after growing up together at Fulham. But Davis has missed much of the season after suffering a knee injury.
Knight has pledged that Bolton will survive so his friend will still be a Premier League player when he finally returns.
Knight told the Mirror: “We lived together for a few years when we were at Fulham. We got on very well - we have the same habits and hobbies.
“It is great to have someone who you know very well with you. Hopefully he can get over his injury and comeback stronger next season.
“He is a Premier League player and we want him to have that. He just wants to play football and I felt for him when he had to make the decision does he carry on and play through injury or have the operation and be out for the season.
“When you know someone and you see their highs and lows it is not nice. He just wants to get back to pre-season and for the season to start.
“He is relying on myself and 16 or 17 other players to keep us up.
“And we want to give that back to him as he has played just three League games this season.”
