Boxer Brian Rose is hoping to bring further success to Blackpool this evening when he enters the ring to face Max Maxwell.

The avid Seasiders' fan has been inspired by watching the team in recent weeks and hopes to add to the promotion buzz by keeping his unbeaten record intact.

"The Wembley triumph has given Blackpool the lift that it needed," the 25-year-old said. "What Ian Holloway and the boys achieved was magnificent and I wouldn't mind some of that success myself.

"Some of my fans are still celebrating promotion and everyone who has bought a ticket from me will be wearing a tangerine wig at the Maxwell fight.

"Provided I get through Maxwell, my promoter Frank Maloney will deliver a British title fight and, like the footballers, I won't let the town down."

The fight, which takes place at the Huddersfield Leisure Centre, will also be screened on Sky Sports 1 from 10pm.
