Blackburn outcast Jason Roberts is desperate to end his Ewood Park nightmare and has told boss Sam Allardyce – play me or lose me.

The striker has been frozen out after falling behind Nikola Kalanic and Mame Biram Diouf.

Roberts’ Rovers days now appear over with Wigan and Sven Goran Eriksson’s Leicester both in the hunt for the 32-year-old.

Roberts said: “There’s not much I can do – apart from keeping myself as fit as I can. If I’m called upon I will do the best job I can.

“If not, maybe we will look to do something in January or at the end of the season.”
