Blackburn are expecting an answer back from Morten Gamst Pedersen this week as they look to tie him down to a new contract.

Rovers boss Sam Allardyce is hopeful the Norweigan will put pen to paper on a deal to extend his stay at Ewood Park, but he wants the matter resolving as soon as possible.

Ideally he would like a decision from Pedersen in the next few days so he can plan ahead for next season.

Allardyce told the Lancashire Telegraph: "Negotiations are ongoing, on a constant basis, and I'm hoping that by the middle of next week or the end of next week."
